Afrihill Press is pleased to announce a free three-day virtual writing seminar that will take place from March 27 to March 29, 2026. The seminar will bring together writers, readers, and people who love literature for thoughtful discussions about writing and the role of literature during difficult times.
The theme of the seminar is The Influence of 21st Century Literature and Writers in Times of War and Crisis. Today, many parts of the world are facing wars, social struggles, and different kinds of crisis. In moments like these, literature becomes a strong tool for writers to tell stories, keep memories alive, and question the systems that shape society. This seminar will look at how writers of this century respond to war, crisis, displacement, and shared pain through their works.
Each day of the seminar will feature a guest speaker who will share their thoughts, experiences, and ideas about the role of literature in today’s world.
The first session will hold on Friday, March 27, 2026, and the opening speaker will be Tukur Loba Ridwan. The second session will take place on Saturday, March 28, 2026, and it will feature Jide Badmus as the speaker. The seminar will end on Sunday, March 29, 2026, with Clayton Bradshaw-Mittal as the third speaker.
All the sessions will be held online through Google Meet at 8:00 PM (WAT) each day. This makes it easy for people in different places to join the seminar and take part in the discussions.
