Introducing the Reader Team at Afrihill Press

Afrihill Press is pleased to introduce our reader team. This group of dedicated individuals will be responsible for reading and reviewing all submissions received by our publishing house.

Our readers will work closely with the Founding Editor by supporting the editorial process of creative works submitted to Afrihill Press.

Their role is important to our mission of discovering and promoting emerging and established creative voices across the world.

Timileyin Adepoju

Timileyin O. Adepoju writes from Ibadan, Nigeria. He is a poet and fashion entrepreneur. He was shortlisted for Bridgette James Poetry Competition 2025, Paradise Gate Contest 2025, Finalist 2024 BKPP Poetry. His works has been featured in Cloudscent Journal, Iceblink Lit. Abigail-Tydale Bassey

Abigail-Tydale Bassey is the author of ‘Walking with God’ (Parousia Reads Chapbook Series, 2020) and ‘Courageous’, third place in the 2022 Pengician Poetry Chapbook Prize. She was longlisted for the 2021 African Writers Awards in Poetry for ‘No Other Miracle’, and has featured in six anthologies including ‘Tales and Twists’ and ‘The Aftermath’ (Tales from the Other Land, 2019 & 2022). Abigail’s poetry has also appeared or is forthcoming in Writers Space Africa, Parousia Reads and Magazine, Cultural Daily, Shadowplay and elsewhere. Her debut collection ‘The Beauty of Fugly Beings’ is set for publication later in 2026. She lives in Port Harcourt, where she works, writes, and plays tennis.

 

Okorie Divine

Okorie Divine is a writer, editor and researcher in Nigeria. His works, cutting across themes of sexuality, gender, differences and the mundane, have been published on journals like Brittle Paper, African Writers’ Magazine, The Muse Journal and others. He is currently the Nonfiction editor for Akewi Magazine, and fiction editor for Fiery Scribe Review. He served as the Chief Editor of The Muse Journal, No. 52, and also served as a reader for The Beacon Prize. His creative nonfiction won the 2023 Abubakar Gimba Prize for Creative Nonfiction and he was shortlisted for 2023 Sevhage Prize for Creative Nonfiction. He’s currently in Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria.

Olalekan Daniel

Olalekan Daniel Kehinde (he/him), NGP XII, is an award-winning poet. His poems have appeared in Poetry Column NND, SprinNG, Agbowó, miniskirt magazine, Gyroscope Review, Isele Magazine, The Deadlands and lots more. He studied English and Literature Education as an undergraduate in the University of Benin, Benin City, Nigeria. He is on Instagram as @dapenmustgrow

 

Olobo Ejile

Olobo Ejile is a Nigerian poet, writer, and researcher. He holds an M.A in Literature from the University of Ibadan. He is a Member of Hilltop Creative Arts Foundation, Lagos Chapter, an alumnus of the 2025 Idembeka Creative Writing Workshop, and Global Arts in Medicine Fellowship. He is either teaching literature, researching, listening to music, or hustling around the city of Lagos. His works have been longlisted for Wale Okediran Poetry Prize 2025, Ladi Kwali Poetry Prize,  among others.
